If there’s one thing we’ve noticed this year, it’s that more clients are ready to introduce color, pattern, and personality into their homes. Neutrals will always have their place in grounding a space, but the era of all-white everything is fading, and we’re thrilled to see homes becoming more expressive. Here are a few design trends we’re especially loving right now at LMI:
ck PrintsBlock prints are having such a beautiful resurgence, and it’s easy to see why. They bring a handcrafted, organic quality to a room that is always full of charm. Whether incorporated through drapery, pillows, or smaller upholstery moments, block prints add richness and a collected feel that makes a space feel instantly lived-in and layered.

We’re big believers in the transformative power of color, and color drenching takes that to the next level. Painting the walls, trim, and sometimes even the ceiling in a single hue creates an immersive, jewel-box effect. It’s bold without feeling overwhelming, and when done well, it makes a room feel cohesive and enveloping. We love using this technique to elevate smaller spaces or give any room a striking makeover.

Clients are gravitating toward deeper, moodier colors, and we couldn’t be happier! Forest greens, inky blues, rich plums, chocolate browns, and mauvy pinks make any space feel sophisticated and full of depth. These tones add instant atmosphere and pair beautifully with metallics and natural textures. Moody doesn’t mean dark and heavy; with the right balance, it feels rich, elevated, and inviting.

After years of blonde woods and light, washed materials dominating interiors, darker woods are making a strong comeback. Espresso, walnut, and deep oak finishes bring warmth and structure to a space. They contrast beautifully with today’s moodier palettes and help anchor rooms in a way that feels classic yet current. A darker wood moment, whether a table, cabinet, or the floor, adds depth that light finishes simply can’t achieve.
At LMI, we’ve always believed that a home should reflect the people who live in it, and these trends are helping clients lean into spaces that feel more personal, expressive, and full of life. Whether it’s through saturated color, handcrafted patterns, or richer finishes, the gradual shift away from all-neutral everything is opening the door to so much creativity. We’re excited to keep exploring these trends in thoughtful, intentional ways and can’t wait to see how they continue to shape the homes we design!
