Let’s be real, everybody would love a beautifully decorated home. One that has all modern appliances, quality furniture, unique art and of course a space that encompasses your individual style and aesthetic. But…money is a limited resource. You might find yourself thinking that you just don’t have the means to make your home shine.
Many people do not have the luxury to decorate their entire home at once. As an Interior Designer, my advice is always to put your budget towards one room at a time. Put all of your time and energy into designing just one room in your home. If you are stylish enough then go ahead and design the entire space from top to bottom. Utilize Pinterest to find your inspiration, use Power Point to start putting all the ideas together and then find the perfect pieces of furniture, decor and art. Once you have everything designed, then you can start chipping away at purchasing for that one space until it’s complete. Don’t forget the budget to accessorize said room so that you can truly make your vision come to life.
If you try to sprinkle a small budget across multiple rooms, you will never feel like any room is complete and you’ll feel disappointed that you spent a good amount of money and don’t have much to show for it.
The timeline is going to be longer than you probably want but this allows you to actually make a difference in your home aesthetic. Most people feel like they don’t have the budget to design the entire home at once so they just do nothing.. And there it sits for 10 plus years. Imagine what your home would be like in even 3 years if you took it one space at a time?
Completing one space at a time (rather than be crippled with indecision) gives you a sense of accomplishment and confidence that you can have a dream space that feels wholly yours and complete.
We look forward to serving new and returning clients with the same LMI experience, but on a smaller scale and with a quicker timeline!
